Conversely, intra-African labour migration has surged by 25% (2015–2024), driven by unemployment, governance failures, and resource depletion particularly in West/Central Africa, where informal economies dominate. Without structural reforms, demographic and climate pressures will likely intensify displacement, challenging regional stability.
